Apple with problems in Q4 2022? #ChartOfTheDay

Today let’s take a look on some key factors that can affect Apple Inc profits in Q4 2022 and Q1 2022. This article is part #ChartOfTheDay series.

Apple Inc sales

In 2021 Apple sold globally over 239 mln smartphones. 34,7% (almost 83 mln pcs) of that sale was done in Q4 2021. Pretty impressive. Sale in Q4 is fueled by two factors: Black Friday and Christmas. In 2022 it won’t change.

strongest dollar

At the moment, with dollar index above 110, we have the strongest dollar since January 2002. That make Apple products most expensive all around the world except U.S. Also higher inflation in most countries will affect consumers ability to buy most expensive equipment, like Apple products. In some developing countries newest iPhone price in those circumstances rose over 40%!

“zero COVID” policy

China is very strict with their “zero COVID” policy. China is also home to a massive Foxconn plant in Zhengzhou, where 590 000 iPhones are made daily. It’s manufacturing capacity is around 90% of total 2021 smartphone sales. “Zero COVID” can affect plant itself as well logistics routes, creating delivery delays and gaps in most the most quarter in the year.

On bellowed chart (daily – D1) with Apple stock prices, there is a yellow line for pre-pandemic highs.
